Now please get a clue.

That was because of the HoD helm...but yea I agree with your point none the less.

There is nothing in a PvP character you cannot reproduce using a PvE...just takes time that can be used elsewhere if you are so inclined...

for example:

that's taken me a month or so while in a PvP character it would take 5min at max

I've been playing in PvE for several months, and have done very little PvPing. For my one character who's made it to the top level of the game, I could pretty easily afford any top-of-the-line equipment that I don't have yet. And if there's something I'm missing, I might be able to earn it faster through farming than through PvPing.

Although I must confess that I might go with near-perfect rather than utterly perfect equipment. E.g., I only have two armor +10 Defensive collector's staffs of Defense, but I have a pretty unlimited supply of armor +8s. And while I could afford a Brimstone, I'm not buying one until I get it on a drop, so I might go with the collector's focus item instead. And so on.

Go on, find me a 20/20 prot staff with divine favour requirements. There are somethings money can't buy in GW and that's one of them. It can only come through a rare staff and how often do you think the probabilities would align?

Taken from http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...=130380&page=2

In any case, there're collector 20/20 staffs that you can mod at will, just because they require smiting doesn't make them less usefull than one that requires divine because it's not like you wanding stuff along the match will make much of a difference.

Going back to topic. I use 3 PvE characters. Mostly because the more inmerse into a class I'd be, I'd require extra equipments (Specially greens and gold stuff I've been collecting), besides all the possible equipment I could get from the creation screen. Since I had no enough space to store all this extra equipment and since I didn't like to go through the process of passing items back and forth all the time I made 3 PvE toons for the class I play the most/have more equipment for. I switch weapon sets a lot :P I wish there were at least 6 weapon sets but that's another story hehee.

Also it allows you to have different weapon sets for different situations that you can swap back and forth depending on the situation, for example, you don't need your liutenants helm (warrior) against a team without hexes, or your Judge's set (Monk) against obs spike.

The only drawback is the insane amount of gold that takes you to make a PvE character, PvP ready >.<

Ok, I wasn't exactly clear. I meant a moddable to your own desires 20/20 prot staff. If you read through the thread that would have been obvious, but my fault, I wasn't clear.

As for the smiting req, yes it does matter. Yes, as a monk I am not the major damage dealer. However, the number of times I've just caught someone with a hit from my staff and taken them out is high. It might only happen one match in ten, but I'm not going to discount it. Aside from that, the initial assertion was that htere is nothing you can get in PvP that you can't in PvE. That still holds true. You can get a moddable 20/20 prot staff with divine favour requirement in PvP. You can't in PvE.

All I use is my PvE Mes in TA and HoH. I have all Mes skill cept for 5. I also have all the secondaries for my MEs, but still need more skills on some. And like ppl have said, you can have green weapons in there and build more specific mods.

After grinding my way to UAS, I cannot even bear to think about running another toon through PvE.

Looks like it's PvP-only all the way for me.
